LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

TAD Preschool, which aims to provide a conversational English education, attaches great importance to the English Workshop. In these workshops, we aim not to teach or memorize structural features of English such as grammar, but to enable students to use English actively and fluently as a language of communication. TAD Preschool, which provides the necessary education in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference, in order to develop the language skills that are directly proportional to the age of our students aged 2-6, who constitute the best student group in foreign language learning, provides an environment where its students do not learn English, but live and acquire it. offers. Our English program, which is prepared under the leadership of academics and expert Teacher Trainers, is implemented by teachers who graduated from the Department of English Language Teaching, who use creative, entertaining and language-oriented methods and materials based on the ages, physical, emotional and social skills of the students. In accordance with 21st Century Language Teaching principles, in TAD Preschool English Workshops, Teacher Talk Time is minimized while Student Speaking Time is maximized. If the student will not be able to use the foreign language in class and speak fluently, then we are wasting our time trying to teach.

IF THE STUDENT CANNOT USE THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN THE CLASSROOM AND CANNOT SPEAK FLUENTLY,  THEN TRYING TO TEACH  WE ARE WASTEING OUR TIME.

WHY DON'T WE RECOMMEND DUAL TEACHERS?
In an increasingly competitive environment, new English Teaching methods that can be used for advertising are produced and introduced to make a difference. In this context, many preschool education institutions have started to adopt a two-teacher system, one of which uses mother tongue and the other English. Believing that it will not be possible to develop a foreign language for speaking in environments where the mother tongue is used as the language of communication, the TAD Preschool education system is against the use of the mother tongue in English teaching. In educational environments where one teacher gives the instruction in English and the other teacher gives the same instruction in Turkish, the student will always wait for the instruction that comes easier to him and focus on it. A student who is constantly exposed to the mother tongue, both at home and outside, will inevitably wait for the instruction in the mother tongue and focus on it. These systems for learning English at the vocabulary level, and especially for understanding, will limit students' use of a foreign language and prevent them from speaking as a communication language.

Since the dual teacher system is based on the simultaneous use of mother tongue and foreign language by teachers, it is a derivative of the Grammar Translation Method, which dates back to the Roman Empire and was included in education systems especially in the 19th century. First of all, this method is called Classical Method because it is used to read and understand literary texts produced in classical languages such as Latin and Greek. Since this method for understanding the structural features of the language could not develop a basic and vital skill such as speaking, it was found insufficient over time and alternative methods have been developed that also aim to make people speak (Harmer, 2007, 67-68). In this method, the control is always with the teacher, and teachers must constantly give information, explain, exemplify, translate into the mother tongue, and therefore constantly speak. Every time the teacher speaks, it means that the student is deprived of it.

Based on this idea, TAD Preschool does not recommend a two-teacher education model in which mother tongue and English are used simultaneously, and does not implement it within its own body, considering that the use of mother tongue in foreign language learning and translation interferes with foreign language learning in almost every international study.
